Who says that *gudaga is Proto-Pama-Nyungan? It's not attested in the West.

What do you mean, it’s not attested? You mean you haven’t found any ancient scrolls in the Proto-Pama-Nyungan language? That asterisk means it’s a hypothetical form, a reconstruction. The asterisk means that it is not attested. That is the case with all the forms in most proto languages. If it were attested, there wouldn’t be an asterisk.
