derivative quotes[edit]

i'm not much good at finding TV shows, but i heard on TV once in a movie or show a quote like "is that a foot-long [sandwich] in your pocket, or are you happy to see me?" to which he replied "actually, it is a foot-long!" later in the show he finds out the woman only likes him because he's overweight and calls her a chubby chaser. even with this, though, i wasnt able to track down the origin of the quote. there are surely many more references to this, and we could of course add Mae West's own uses of it, or at least one. i should add that this can be used by itself, too. it doesnt require the lead-in "is that a ---- in your pocket" or anything similar. these arent citable, of course, but i heard it once out loud at work to described how a coworker's cellphone kept sliding around in his pants pocket because they were too wide, and on a 1980s TV show where a the tail on a kid's dinosaur costume was pushed into pointing forwards because the kids were crowded into a tiny space.
