@Lingo Bingo Dingo I feel that if it's used to mean "head" that would be a pars pro toto but not the primary meaning. To me this definitely refers to the brains first and foremost; I always understood it to be a nonstandard variant of hersenen/hersens. (Compare the spelling harsens for example.)
