More specific meaning in relation to prostitution[edit]

I am unsure if it is accurate to say using this as a verb would be the same as whoring/prostituting. A hooker seems to be a specific subclass of harlot (much like an adult film star) specifically indicating those who stand in view on the streets. The term hooker usually means someone selling on the street, as opposed to say, working in a massage parlour or a bordello where you rarely see hooker used. What we would need are citations of usage (not mentions) that clearly show the term being used as specifically as you say. Many words are used with various degrees of specificity.
