not really of unknow origins... according to Dictionnaire étymologique basque en français-espagnol-anglais (see French Wiktionary for link) iraatsi is a collateral form of eratzi, "to milk a cow" (itself a compound of jetzi and -ra-), in French tracer, "write" and traire, "milk a cow" have the same latin root.
