Transitiveness?[edit]

If this verb is intransitive how to parse the following phrase I found in a book?

I don't think transitiveness applies to this; "se" (sitä) is not a direct object of "kohota" (kohoamaan). Literally it's "He could not make it rise". Saada + [third infinitive] is translated as "to get somebody to do something". But I'm not an expert on grammar. --Epiq 17:53, 10 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
