Adverb: at a fairly late time

[edit]

At a fairly late time, or later than is desirable or expected They arrived latish. --Backinstadiums (talk) 09:48, 19 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

The only usage example is already treating it as an adverb, despite the term being labelled an adjective. 70.172.194.25 09:52, 19 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
@70.172.194.25: Can you elaborate on what it exactly entails? Backinstadiums (talk) 10:58, 19 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
An adjectival usage would be:
I had a latish breakfast. = I had a somewhat late (adj sense 1/4) breakfast. The breakfast was a bit late, but not very late.
An adverbial usage would be:
They arrived latish. = They arrived somewhat late (adv sense 1). They arrived a bit late, but not very late.
Currently, we list this term as an adjective, but the usage example we give is that of an adverb. There is a mismatch between the expected part of speech and what we provide. 70.172.194.25 11:30, 19 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
