add'l cites[edit]

difficult to type templates for these so i will just post links: 1908 US, 1940s US, ~1950 US (cant read date), ... so nothing of low-hanging fruit from before 1900 or outside the US. and yes, i know i only searched the -ing form, so there might be things Im missing. 1889 US 1898 US in both cases google cannot highlight the word, so its difficult to find on the page, but it seems to be real. so this must be an American coinage. Soap 13:18, 9 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
