Slovak verb[edit]

Hello, I don't think this etymology (namely jьmati) for the Slovak verb mať is correct, since closely related language, Czech, clearly inherits its verb from jьměti, and some Eastern Moravian dialects have the verb mjať, which shown the historical deiotation jě > jä > ja. I doubt that Moravian dialects would inherit their verb from different root than Bohemian dialects, I think that more probable is a mere areal phonological shifts, deiotation for the whole West Slavic group, and additional palatalization in Bohemian dialects.
