mantle[edit]

Rfv-sense: the top of a woman's torso. Ƿidsiþ 10:50, 5 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I have not found any quotations supporting this sense; I tried strings like "over her mantle", "her mantle uncovered". I did find some odd descriptions of squid behavior, but this would seem to fail (sense removed). — Beobach 03:13, 19 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Possible missing senses[edit]

Chambers 1908 has a mantle noun definition as "spirit" and an intransitive verb as "to revel; to joy". Hard to find anything in Google Books due to other senses. Equinox 21:13, 23 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
