Not according to an old Sicilian-Italian dictionary. The Sicilian equivalent of the Sardinian marzu (rotten) would actually be marciu (analogous to the Italian marcio), which that same dictionary defines as "putrido, fracido" ("putrid, rotten"). --Andrew C talk (afc0703) 04:59, 6 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
