Really? Not in the OED. The "Meric index" (surname?) exists, as does (deprecated template usage) -meric. SemperBlotto (talk) 11:38, 30 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

I don't think it exists except in meric index "an indicator of flatness of the proximal femur diaphysis". It is used in primatology and archaeology apparently as a possible indicator of the health of the specimen in life. I can't tell if it is eponymous, but it is not often used with a capital M in running text. It might be short for platymeric index, diagnostic of platymeria.
It is definitely derived ultimately from μηρία (mēría, thigh bones). DCDuring TALK 00:32, 1 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
