I don't think so, actually. It is a (colloquial) shortening from Portuguese miséria. After checking that entry, I've copied all the available etymological information -- i.e., it came from Latin miseria apparently. --Daniel Carrero (talk) 04:21, 26 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
