I’ve heard this pronounced with /ə/ and /ʊ/ instead of /ʌ/ (/ʊ/ only once). In addition, Merriam-Webster claims /ɑ/ can be used instead of /ɔ/, but I’ve haven’t ever heard it. — Ungoliant (falai) 17:52, 23 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Makes sense, yeah. I think a lot of people avoid unstressed STRUT vowels and so this would have to either be a schwa or acquire 2ndary stress. Soap 14:22, 24 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
I think I may have heard /ˌmɔ.rɪˈbʌnd/ with final stress, but I may be wrong. 90.186.170.193 19:44, 30 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
There's also the misspelling "moribound" (from obvious association with "bound to die"). Don't know if it corresponds to a possible pronunciation /mɔ.rɪ.baʊ̯nd/ (initial or final stress). Most attestations seem to be from non-native-speaker writers. 90.186.170.193 19:52, 30 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
