Alas, it's not from Proto-Samic (spoken too far south to have plausibly had a word for 'walrus'), but rather one of the likely late substrate words in the Sami languages. Beyond that, I'm not sure what else is elaboratable. --Tropylium (talk) 19:40, 9 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
