@Tropylium Could you elaborate on this etymology? Perhaps a Proto-Samic page could be useful so that ru and sh pages can refer to it directly and be linked back. Crom daba (talk) 17:44, 8 April 2017 (UTC)
- Alas, it's not from Proto-Samic (spoken too far south to have plausibly had a word for 'walrus'), but rather one of the likely late substrate words in the Sami languages. Beyond that, I'm not sure what else is elaboratable. --Tropylium (talk) 19:40, 9 April 2017 (UTC)
