Rfv-sense: A long movable shed used by besiegers in ancient times in attacking the walls of a fortified town. Used in French, and in a couple of dictionaries. It is probably (talk) 10:21, 9 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

The English terms for this concept are apparently testudo = testude (our entry is missing the exact sense; it is not the same thing as formation of shields) or mantelet = mantlet. This, that and the other (talk) 11:09, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
