Talk:night blindness

"Blindness" is a state. It cannot be pluralised any more that can "wealth", for example.

Congenital night blindness and acquired night blindness are two types of blindness. In other words they are two blindnesses, specifically, two "night blindnesses". I had an experience of night blindness on two successive nights. When I compared these two "night blindnesses" they seemed different. Most "uncountable" nouns are actually countable. Our definitions don't always reflect the "type of" and "instance of" senses explicitly, but they are almost always potentially there. Try a search of b.g.c. for "blindnesses".
