Palanca (related to the word 'plank', support, or lever) as brought by (Catholic?) practitioners from Spanish, is also a spiritual exercise (prayer, meditation, fast, or other private act) performed in support of, and at the same time (and with the knowledge of), someone performing a challenging (possibly overwhelming) task or undergoing difficulties, as a lever to bouy their spirit, console their pain, and encourage their resolution and effort.

  1. Palanca is also the same as the English word 'plank' as a metaphorical 'floor board', part of a 'platform', or foundation for a orgnization's mission, it's mission statement, or part of it.
