Latin Etymology 2[edit]

I might be misreading the L&S entries but it seems like they don't derive this sense of pando from the adj. pandus. Instead, they seem to derive pandus from the verb and the verb from spando, which they don't provide and may be a reconstructed supposition (?). They then seem to derive that from Greek σπάω (spáō) or to note it as a cognate. — LlywelynII 13:58, 29 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
