I've removed the reference to an eraser on the end of a pencil, on the grounds that it is beyond the menaing of this word. Eclecticology 22:52 Feb 10, 2003 (UTC)


I'm not convinced by the meaning of the verb 'pencil'. To me, it doesn't imply fitting something into a tight schedule; rather, it implies tentativeness. "I'll pencil you in for 3 o'clock" means "That might change, so I'm only writing it in pencil so it can be erased easily." --Angr 06:44, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)
