it seems to originate from the red sox per this article, and it's been in the urban dictionary since 2006. a lot of talk about what a "pink hat" represents but not a lot of attestations for that broad noun sense that i can see. searching for "pink-hatted" got me a few more results in boston news having to do with the red sox. i think it should be in wiktionary somehow, but not sure the best way to phrase the definition. --Habst (talk) 05:08, 22 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

cited. As far as I can tell, our definition is correct, but the use of the term is limited to the Boston area, which is why it turns up mostly for Red Sox fans.
