Sensu strictu[edit]

The term is definitely used in the way it's defined here, but there's another, narrower sense, that I wouldn't know how to define. Let me give an example. In the film Trolls World Tour, each of the types of music that exist in the film's world are represented by a string of a different color: blue for techno, purple for funk, yellow for classical, orange for country, red for rock, and pink for pop. Thus, as understood by the writers of the film, pop, at least in one sense, does not include techno, funk, country, or rock music, all of which would be considered pop sensu latu.
