Etymology was not obvious to me[edit]

I read in another dictionary, I don't remember which one, that pot boiler comes from the idea that the creative work is done to put food on the table and so I surmised that to mean it is providing money to buy fuel to heat up a pot of food, to boil a pot of food. I'd like to add this to the entry if no one objects.

Something like: A creative work of low quality (book, art, etc), produced merely to earn a living or for profit, as opposed to serious creative expression. From the idea of putting food on the table, to boil a pot of food.
