Rfv-sense: "suffer". I can't think of any example with this sense. Is it in phrases like "gewond raken"? If so, then it could probably be collapsed into the next sense "to become". —Rua (mew) 18:34, 3 December 2019 (UTC)
- In “gewond raken” the verb is copulative, but the sense “suffer” is labeled “transitive”, so it should take a direct object. For verfication purposes we need something like “hij raakte een groot verlies” (“he suffered a great loss”). I did not succeed in spotting transitive uses in which the sense was anything like “to suffer”. There is “een gevoelige snaar raken”, which may bring forth tears, but then the person being impacted is someone else, and this idiom is clearly a metaphorical use of the sense “to hit” (viz. a sensitive chord). --Lambiam 20:23, 3 December 2019 (UTC)
