Major dictionaries (Chambers, Collins) have "recursiveness" but not "recursivity". Wiktionary has "recursivity" but not "recursiveness". What is going on here? Can we at least see a reputable print source for "recursivity", or else remove it? 86.158.0.125 00:08, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- Recursivity is slightly less common than recursiveness on Google books. Both should be entries. I can't explain why Collins and Chambers have neglected recursivity. Perhaps you could ask them. I'll have created the entry for recursiveness probably before you read this, let alone before you find out how to get in touch with them. In a couple of years they'll have recursivity. Plural more euphonious than recursivenesses[edit]
An advantage of "recursivity" over "recursiveness" is that its plural is more euphonious. DCDuring TALK 00:34, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
