Possible missing sense[edit]

Chambers 1908 has a sense glossed "theatrical": "to signal the conductor to begin". Unclear whether transitive (they rang him in) or not. Not very easily found in Google Books. Equinox 06:07, 4 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
