MT sajjetta from LD saëta or from IT/SC saetta/saitta?[edit]

I wonder whether Maltese sajjetta is indeed derived from Ladin saëta, sita. Not being an expert in Maltese, Ladin and Italian, I imagine that contact between Maltese and Italian / Sicilian has been rather or much closer and more intense than between Maltese and Ladin spoken in what is today Northern Italy and Southern Switzerland. For Italian and Sicilian I find the words saetta and saitta [1] respectively. Could someone knowledgeable advise whether putting MT sajjetta under LD saëta, sita could be just a typo?Redav (talk) 15:25, 14 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
