English: portcullis or herse?[edit]
Webster 1913 says that sarrasin (or sarrasine, sarasin) in English is "a portcullis, or herse". I can't find the citations. Equinox ◑ 23:20, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
French etymology[edit]
sarrazin is an alternative form, and a Dr. Michel Sarrazin was known for his agricultural work with wheat. No connection at all? Equinox ◑ 12:17, 10 December 2018 (UTC)
