The Constitution of the state of Minnesota as it appeared before 1974 says that one does not lose one's status as a resident of Minnesota by being absent from the state for either of two purposes: (1) to serve in the military of the United States; or (2) to attend a "seminary of learning" outside the state. I am inclined to suspect that "seminary of learning" was intended to include every kind college, university, or school (partly, but not only, because in 1974 it was revised to say "institution of learning"). But that sense of the word is not included here. Should it be? Michael Hardy (talk) 18:13, 21 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Cognate, etymon, derivative...?[edit]

Is this word related in any way to "sāmaṇera"? Both refer to novice clergy. Steve8394 (talk) 17:33, 17 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
