Semi transparent (also semitransparent and semi-transparent) has three potentially conflicting definition types: 1. Translucent (as above). 2. Clear (allowing optical details to show through, but with the absorption of some or all visible wavelengths; "slightly colored and/or speckled colors which allow most colors to show through with only slight distortions" (a). 3. Half-mirrored (b).

These are summarized in the ambiguous definition "partially or imperfectly transparent" (c) and the term see-through.
