Talk:sex up

No article yet but here are the first Usenet usages I can find so far for the sense popularized during the Gulf War II period:

  • sexed-up: sci.electronics - 25 Sep 1991 by Henry Spencer: [1]
  • sexing up: rec.arts.tv.soaps.cbs - 8 Oct 1995 by Alice Carpenter: [2] (may not be correct sense)

It's difficult to isolate this sense from actual sexual or "sexiness" senses, and from the general background noise due to these two words occuring next to each other without an idiomatic meaning.

I've reverted edits made by anonymous user 68.117.132.116 since I feel that examples found in the wild are always better than made-up ones. — Hippietrail 01:56, 2 Dec 2004 (UTC)
