Vietnamese translation

This Vietnamese translation of the term used by U.S. president Donald J. Trump has appeared in the Vietnamese press: hố phân. 76.189.141.37 06:49, 14 January 2018 (UTC)

@Metaknowledge: Yes, French translated as "pays de merde" (lit.: "shit country") but "merde" doesn't mean "shithole". Taiwan: 鳥不生蛋國家 / 鸟不生蛋国家 (niǎo bù shēng dàn guójiā) - "countries where birds don't lay eggs", Japan: 便所のように汚い国 (benjo no yō ni kitanai kuni) - "countries dirty as toilets". --Anatoli T. ^{(обсудить}/^вклад) 08:58, 14 January 2018 (UTC)

The Koreans newspapers translated as 거지 소굴 (geoji sogul, “beggar's haunt”). 'Thanks' to Trump, the East Asian transliterations have become popular: Korean 싯홀 (sithol) or 쉿홀 (swithol), Japanese シットホール (shittohōru). --Anatoli T. ^{(обсудить}/^вклад) 07:42, 15 January 2018 (UTC)
