shuttlecork[edit]

In the following sentence:

"used in badminton as a ball is used in other racquet games"

as really sounds like it is used in the sense of because, which would make the statement incorrect. Replacing as with the way is unambiguous. Some other unambiguous alternatives I thought of are: like, the way that, the same way (that), similarly to the way (that), similiarly to how, in a similar way to the way (that), in a similar way to how, etc.

Mglovesfun, I hope you see why I don't like the word as in this sentence.
