I looked up the word "sideral" for family reasons. My father-in-law was a blacksmith in 1950s Cyprus. He married the master blacksmith's daughter whose surname was Sideras. When I looked up the Greek word for blacksmith on Google, it returned with "sideras", so I wanted to find out if this word or any derivatives had been exported.

I am not sure of what you are meaning. Are you searching for this, σιδεράς? This would be the same case as "Smith" which is a common English surname and has the same meaning. Bu193 (talk) 14:52, 23 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Siderial[edit]

The word Siderial could have derived from சித்த+அறிவியல் which means Sidha + aruvial(science)--> sidaruvial --> siderial Sidha science are mostly related to measurement of time and movements of planets and its positions too. But in recent times, it is just restricted to only alternate medical science. Lots of proofs are there in older Indian temples to show that time was exactly measured in seconds. Especially it can be found in south India. Ranjithoft (talk) 01:36, 4 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
