It's *sort of* covered by sense 2. It can mean cunningly obtaining sexual favors, but also other things (money, power, whatever). It would be possible to redo sense 2 rather than add a new sense. Mglovesfun (talk) 13:23, 2 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
A playboy could be brash and successful or be a smooth operator. The image of playboy in my mind is associated with the somewhat brash celebrity playboy. Such a playboy doesn't need to be a smooth operator: good looks, fame, and wealth usually suffice. A smooth operator is more subtle, usually out of need.
