If you've got a policy that we have to give the Cantonese in a badly formatted manner, kindly link to it. Merriam Webster certainly isn't a dispositive source, but it's one among many that hyphenate words rather than leave all the characters unhelpfully atomized. — LlywelynII 15:12, 22 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

No policy but unwritten convention in the form of the thousands of Jyutping romanizations included on our Chinese entries in the forms of zh-pron output, zh-usex output, translation template output, etc. If I wanted to hyphenize pinyin or use CamelCaps (YinWei Ye You Ren ZheYang Da PinYin) could you point me to policy that says no?
