In computing, refers to software "phoning home" with information about how software has been used, e.g. so the manufacturer can determine which features are popular and unpopular, or where crashes are occurring. Does this merit a separate sense? I wonder in particular if it can be local (saving logs to disk) rather than necessarily always involving a transmission to a remote site.
