Double stress[edit]

@Mar vin kaiser If we're going to follow the diacritics, can the IPA template at least have a setting of inversing which diacritic gets the stronger stress? Or maybe no new setting but we deliberately make only the first diacritic stressed in IPA only. For Spanish loan words like "probínsiyá", lámpará, prínsipé, diyákono and many more, It's the first stress that is stressed more. For Filipino words (usually compounds), the final stress is the one receiving the stronger stress like ibá-ibá. Ysrael214 (talk) 21:58, 29 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Ysrael214: I kinda get what you mean. Let me think about that. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 14:19, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
@TagaSanPedroAko: Adding you in the discussion here. Ysrael214 has a point. For Spanish loanwords where we put two diacritics, it's often in the first stress that's the main stress. But the current IPA template puts the primary stress in the second diacritic. --Mar vin kaiser (talk) 13:22, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
