Plural[edit]

While I can't think of a reason why this word wouldn't be able to be used in the plural, neither theoses nor theosises seem to be used as such, probably because theosis is usually used to refer to the process rather than an individual instance of it. — Carolina wren discussió 18:50, 27 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

It's (in English) a Christian theological term of art that refers to a state of being that people participate in, not instances of people becoming gods in their own right, so by definition uncountable. Apparently Damascius, the one pagan author who uses the term, has it in the plural in Greek, but it doesn't look like anyone has actually translated it "theoses/theosises". —Al-Muqanna المقنع (talk) 13:49, 2 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
