As this "fortition" of /j/ to /tj/ apparently occurs only in interjections, I strongly suspect that it is in fact an onomatopoeia for clicking one's tongue. All the three words tja, tjonge, and tjeempie can be replaced with a clicking of the tongue as well. 2.207.102.134 19:23, 27 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
