Difficult to penetrate[edit]

Not in the US or the UK (at least not in England). Since /ð/ is very rare among the languages of the world, very few non-native English speakers get the sound right- so terms with /ð/ serve somewhat as shibboleths to mark non-native speakers. Chuck Entz (talk) 21:41, 6 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
