I just want to tell you that verekszik is the original and verkedik is an alternative, colloquial, not really correct form. Adam bozso (talk) 01:31, 22 November 2020 (UTC)

- @Panda10 That is from the late 50s early 60s, in that time this was considered as a main form because of the infinitive (verekedni), but now the other is. Adam bozso (talk) 22:28, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Adam bozso OK, here is a more recent dictionary: Eőry, Vilma. Értelmező szótár+ (’Explanatory Dictionary Plus’). Budapest: Tinta Könyvkiadó, 2007. →ISBN . Even though the main entry is verekedik, there is an explanation at the end:
- A verekedik és a verekszik egyenrangú alakváltozatok, de a kijelentő mód jelen idejének ragozási sorában nem egyforma gyakorisággal használatosak: verekszem (ritkán: verekedem), verekszel (ritkán: verekedsz; a verekedel elavult forma), verekszik (ritkábban: verekedik), verekszünk vagy verekedünk, verekedtek (a verekszetek elavult forma), verekednek (ritkábban: verekszenek). Feltételes, felszólító módban és múlt időben csak a d-s tőváltozat használatos: verekedne, verekedjen vagy (ikesen ragozva, választékosan) verekedjék, verekedett.
