Bit funny how in German "die Ehe vollziehen" means "to consummate the marriage", whereas in Dutch "het huwelijk voltrekken" means "to contract the marriage" (as of a civil servant). So when I read something like de burgemeester zal het huwelijk zelf voltrekken, it makes me think of "ius primae noctis" :) 90.186.170.193 18:00, 28 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
