Is there any evidence for any of the English senses of wathe? The only hits I can find on GoogleBooks are Middle English, ‘Wathe’ as a surname or place name and scannos of other words, especially weather and a representation of a New Englander with a lisp saying rather but that’s it. Ety 1 is the same word as derived from waith (OED) and Ety 2 the same word as derived from wothe (OED). Like feeze and its friends, this collection of words is in desperate need of deduplication and cleanup. This, that and the other (talk) 06:57, 18 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
I missed that waith and wothe are Middle English entries, so my comment wasn't accurate. Nonetheless, I've checked EDD under various possible spellings and found nothing. This, that and the other (talk) 02:25, 27 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
