cite states that hat is worn by American Quaker men. This implies it was worn exclusively by same. Per George Eliot Daniel Deronda penguin classics edition p 580 its use was not limited to Americans or Quakers. Cite should be changed to be more inclusive. Other dictionary cites do this am
