why[edit]

@Saltmarsh, how can I avoid adding all these templates and their documentations at Category:Greek irregular contracted verbs and Category:Greek irregular verbs. Perhaps, taking off the categorization from the template and adding it directly to the page? e.g. ακούω. --sarri.greek (talk) 01:20, 14 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Sarri.greek I should have spotted this - I've edited the template to achieve the desired end:
{{#if:{{NAMESPACE}} | |[[Category:Greek irregular contracted verbs]] [[Category:Greek irregular verbs]] }}

It categorises the page ONLY when it is in the main area - ignoring templates, talk pages, etc.
BUT - as you suggest - it is probably easier to remove categorisation from the templates and placing them in the verb's page. — Saltmarsh. 05:30, 17 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thank you @Saltmarsh. I tried it. It is nice, but some documentations are still at Category:Greek irregular verbs. Bof, never mind. --sarri.greek (talk) 08:25, 17 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
Fear not @Sarri.greek — categories assigned by templates take a while to work their way through "the system" but within a day or so the results will be evident — Saltmarsh. 09:59, 17 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
The documentations include the Conjugation itself, so, they are categorized as well. I took off from the templates the [Category:..] section. As you say, they can be added at the page. They are not too many anyway. --sarri.greek (talk) 10:03, 17 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
