Parameter questions

@Saltmarsh, what is the difference between |gloss= and |t=? Also, why does this not use the {{inflection of}} template as its backend? —JohnC5 06:06, 27 October 2017 (UTC)

@JohnC5 (1) There isn't a difference - |t= was added as an option to this template following its "introduction" to {{l}}. Is their operation different there?
(2)What I was thinking 7yrs ago when I created it I don't know - maybe {{inflection of}} didn't do precisely what my objective was.— Saltmarsh. 06:20, 27 October 2017 (UTC)

@Saltmarsh: For some reason |gloss= goes before the dot and |t= after. Would you mind if I refactored this template? —JohnC5 06:37, 27 October 2017 (UTC)

@JohnC5: I have just attended to this - the untidy o/p at ρόδα made me look at the template again. Neither |gloss= or |t= are used much - "gloss" has been remove and entries using it will be changed. Thanks for making me think about it! — Saltmarsh.

Dear @Saltmarsh, IF an inner link (#) is desirable, could we have a |2= for the word presentation (and its transliteration) like at {{l|xx|word#link|word} e.g. at μπούρδες (boúrdes) (directing to noun 1) like this:

{el-form-of-nounadj|μπούρδας#Etymology_1|μπούρδας|.... etc.

@Sarri.greek That "inner link" is already used, in this case it points at "μπούρδας#Greek". I would suggest that you use "nodot=", something like:

{{temp|el-form-of-nounadj|μπούρδα|c=gen|n=s|nodot=1}}, etymology 2, a sack or bag.

→ Genitive singular form of μπούρδα (boúrda), etymology 2, a sack or bag.

mf

Dear @Saltmarsh something happened and gender mf (I presume the other combinations like mfn, etc) does not work. This works: |m|g2=f. So, suddenly we have:

• Category:Greek terms with incomplete gender

@Sarri.greek Oh yes, thanks for reminding me - there are even more (see Category:User:Saltmarsh and Category:User:Saltmarsh1). I was chasing those forms which were still labelled with "c" for common gender and changed {{el-noun-form}} to bring it into line with the lemma template ("m-f" used to be a legal parameter, when "G2=" was introduced). I started going through those incorrectly labelled but got side tracked. Don't worry, I will do this over the next few weeks. — Saltmarsh. 04:54, 19 June 2019 (UTC)

italics

@Saltmarsh, is it my brain playing tricks, or were all the terms in italics? Now I see them ... err what's the word: normal. E.g.

1. Nominative, accusative and vocative feminine singular form of θυμωμένος (thymoménos).

* @Sarri.greek It's a good job someone notices these things !! I've ammended it to "remove" italics (by removing all those single quotes). This seems to have done the trick — BUT I don't know when the change happened (has it always been like that?)

* The template starts off with "class='use with mention', I don't know what this does - maybe someone altered it.

* I'll try (not much assurance can be attached to this) to keep an eye on the template's output to see if it changes.
