archiveurl[edit]

At [[Chicago]], the text Chicago Tribune, [archiveurl= page 20]: displays. It isn't immediately clear to me what causes this. It isn't obvious in the page source (of Chicago), and I presume it isn't intended... it should probably just display Chicago Tribune, page 20: instead? - -sche (discuss) 07:46, 22 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

The problem is in one of the branches of {{quote-news}} — specifically, the branch that's activated by {{{1}}} being **. It contains this:
{{reference-news|
...
pageurl={{{pageurl|}}}
archiveurl={{{archiveurl|}}}|
...
}}
when it should contain this:
{{reference-news|
...
pageurl={{{pageurl|}}}| <-- notice the pipe at the end
archiveurl={{{archiveurl|}}}|
...
}}
. So, at [[Chicago]], {{reference-news}} is being called with a pageurl argument of archiveurl=. —RuakhTALK 11:57, 22 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Need to add edition[edit]

Newspapers can have an edition (e.g. Electronic, Morning, Afternoon, etc.) and thus this template should add an optional argument to specify the edition being quoted. Also, why don't we add a quote field to the template as is done in the quote-book template? WilliamKF (talk) 19:37, 15 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Coauthors[edit]

The |coauthors= parameter doesn't seem to work. — Cheers, JackLee talk 05:51, 10 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
