English to Latin[edit]

from translation requests

"The pen is mightier than the sword" (Our entry the pen is mightier than the sword has some translations but not Latin. Thank you.) RJFJR 15:48, 11 January 2012 (UTC)

There are several possible translations, here are a few I found:
  • calamus gladio fortior
  • stilus potentior quam gladius
  • penna acrior quam gladius

The corresponding Latin proverb is Cedant arma togae, literally "Arms yield to the toga" (i.e. to discussion). —Angr 09:46, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
