Hello, welcome to Wiktionary, and thank you for your contribution so far. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

• How to edit a page is a concise list of technical guidelines to the wiki format we use here: how to, for example, make text boldfaced or create hyperlinks. Feel free to practice in the sandbox. If you would like a slower introduction we have a short tutorial.
• Entry layout explained (ELE) is a detailed policy documenting how Wiktionary pages should be formatted. All entries should conform to this standard, the easiest way to do this is to copy exactly an existing page for a similar word.
• Our Criteria for inclusion (CFI) define exactly which words Wiktionary is interested in including. There is also a list of things that Wiktionary is not for a higher level overview.
• The FAQ aims to answer most of your remaining questions, and there are several help pages that you can browse for more information.
• We have discussion rooms in which you can ask any question about Wiktionary or its entries, a glossary of our technical jargon, and some hints for dealing with the more common communication issues.

Thesaurus and forest

I have reverted your addition to "forest" entry, in which you have added thesaurus content to "Related terms" section. I have reverted that addition in this edit. The section "Related terms" is intended for etymologically related terms; see WT:ELE#Related_terms.

Furthermore, the content you have added to "forest" entry was wrong. In particular, "scrub" and "pine" are not hypernyms of "forest" but rather "hyponyms" and they are more specific than "forest"; "city", "metropolis", "plain", and "wasteland" are not antonyms of forest; most of the terms that you have listed as synonyms are actually hyponyms ("backwoods, brake, chase, clump, coppice, copse, cover, covert, grove, growth, jungle, park, shelter, stand, thicket, timber, timberland, weald, wildwood, wood, woodland, woodlot, woods") -- for instance, not each forest is a jungle, so "forest" and "jungle" are not synonyms. --Dan Polansky 10:30, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

There is no such section heading, as far as I know. You can reread WT:ELE to see how Wiktionary currently formats synonyms, antonyms, hyponyms, hypernyms, etc. Your introducing a drastic departure from current practice, given you have made 16 mainspace edits in total since 2006 and given you have started no discussion in Beer parlour on what you are about to do, is a poor idea. ---Dan Polansky 12:38, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
